B!KE: The Peterborough Community Bike Shop is seeking candidates for our Board of Directors.

B!KE is looking for energetic, passionate individuals committed to social justice, social and transportational sustainability, gender equity and cycling politics to join B!KE’s Board of Directors. The Board members are integral to supporting B!KE’s long-term role facilitating bicycle education & support in the Peterborough Community.

Board members have:

  • Strong interest community support and social justice.
  • Excellent collaborative skills, creative thinking, and strong initiative.
  • Genuine interest in transportational bike culture and local cycling issues.

Board members will meet once a month, with a time commitment of 5-8 hours per month. Prior Board experience is an asset, but not necessary.

Elections will be held at B!KE’s annual general meeting on Thursday, March 25 @ 7pm.

B!KE: The Peterborough Community Bike Shop is an incorporated not-for-profit education & support organization offering a supervised shop space with tools, parts and expertise for bicycle repair. B!KE supports the excitement, empowerment and pride that comes with taking a hands-on learning approach to your own environment.
Members learn to maintain, repair and build bikes in a friendly and supportive space during regular shop hours. B!KE offers ongoing special programming through several partner organizations, and will be expanding in the coming year to provide targeted workshops, cycling education classes,
and a strong volunteer force.
