About B!KE
B!KE: The Peterborough Community Bike Shop is an incorporated not-for-profit, member-based cycling education and support organization.
We provide a supervised shop space, tools and guidance for the development of bicycle mechanical skills; host maintenance clinics and educational group rides; work with at-risk youth to develop a sense of self worth through community participation; and work with a wide variety of community members - from students to single parents to commuters - to increase the competency, empowerment and self-reliance gained through hands-on learning opportunities.
We support cycling in the Peterborough community by overhauling & selling donated bicycles, making them safe and affordable - and keeping them out of landfill.
We strive to encourage self-reliance through education in basic and advanced levels of maintenance by making available a vibrant workshop supervised by knowledgeable volunteer mechanics. In our educational group rides and in our participation in environmental events, we are committed to advocating for cycling and bike culture.
At B!KE, we share the knowledge & skills that aid people in making the decision to choose cycling as a healthy, responsible and viable transportation and recreational alternative to automobiles.
Hope to see you there!
